Our DIY Panel Saw Kit includes a sliding carriage assembly with 3 interchangeable base plates, precision guide rails, counterbalance pulley, and mounting/alignment hardware. Measured drawings and step-by-step illustrated instructions are provided for building a simple panel saw frame from plywood and 2x4s (frame materials are not included.) Our DIY Panel Saw Kit is an easy project for most woodworkers to assemble within one afternoon. Will Our DIY Panel Saw Kit Work with Your Circular Saw?

Our DIY Panel Saw Kit includes an interchangeable base plate for mounting a circular saw in the sliding carriage (saw not included.) Most "sidewinder" style circular saws with standard 7 1/4" diameter blades will do a fine job. (The name "sidewinder" comes from the location of the motor, which is located to the side of the blade.) Right and left handed saws work equally well. Measure the shoe / base plate to see if your saw will fit: the narrow side should stick out less than 1 7/8" from the blade, the wide side should stick out less than 5 1/8" from the blade, the front and back edges of the shoe should be less than 6 5/8" from the center of the blade.

Will Our DIY Panel Saw Kit Work with Your Router?

Our DIY Panel Saw Kit includes an interchangeable base plate for mounting a fixed-base or plunge base router in the sliding carriage (router not included.) Pre-cut mounting holes are machined into the base plate to accommodate most routers. If the bolt holes on the bottom of your router are evenly spaced in either a "square cross" pattern (4 bolts) or a "peace sign" pattern (3 bolts) then your router should mount to the base plate without modification. Alignment marks machined into the router base plate make it easy to add your own mounting holes if you're router happens to require them.
